Ahimate Reserve is Palmerston North City Council's largest riverside reserve on the Manawatū River in Awapuni, accessed off Maxwells Line. The reserve combines a natural-play playground, the city's first fenced dog-agility park, mountain bike tracks through scenic riverside landscape and Palmy's most popular river beach. Picnic spots, parking and toilets are on-site.

1, Watch out for the car park close time. 2, river, bush, plain wide open grass, just all sorts doggo friends will enjoy. 3, it’s very enjoyable for humans as well, of course.

Great place to go. A bit of a hiccup on the order but the staff handled it well so no dramas. Waffles were nice and tasty.
