Gisborne’s Adventure Playground on Awapuni Road (entry off Brantome Street, between Awapuni Road, Centennial Marine Drive and Stanley Road) is the district’s flagship destination play space. The main structure packs in dual wave slides, ramps, a rope pyramid, scrambling walls, tunnel slides, curved slides, monkey rungs, hanging circles, basket swings, stand-on spinners and a wheelchair-accessible Liberty Swing, with a fenced separate preschool zone of mini slides and wobbly bridges. Shaded BBQ tables, fencing and parking for 20 vehicles complete the site close to Waikanae Beach.
