Washbourn Gardens is a Tasman District Council ornamental garden park in central Richmond, accessed off Oxford Street and curtained by pine and oak trees. Highlights include an astounding rose garden, the 1996 Fernery, a Begonia House housing more than 200 potted begonias and hanging baskets through summer, and the relocated and restored Old Richmond Gaol (moved on-site in 1992). The gardens have picnic spots under shade, public toilets, a small car park and a platform stage area used for community events and weddings.

Really well maintained gardens with a great variety. Plenty of spots to have a family picnic, either seated or sat on a blanket. Highly recommend grabbing some fish and chips before coming down here in the evening with the family. Surprisingly quiet as well

Beautifully kept, gorgeous wee gardens in the heart of Richmond. Backs onto the Jimmy creek trail to walk up the stream to the forest. Toilets along the way and dog friendly. Easy walking just watch for tree roots in the forest areas. It's gorgeous and breath of fresh air that makes you forget your so close to town. Their magnolias are stunning in spring.
