Kell Park sits on Kell Drive in the heart of Albany Village, on land sold to the former Takapuna City Council in 1977 by Albert and Naomi Kells (merged with adjoining reserves in 1984). The playground is well-rated locally for its bespoke carved-wood theming - a giant throne, climbing tower, an oversize disk, and a wooden pirate ship with a flying fox off the deck plus cannon - alongside picnic tables, toilets and a car park. Note: there is no shade across the playground, so bring sunhats. The 2.8km Albany Village Path loops around the park and local reserves.
